Gus Hansen Rises Again

After a series of losses both at and away from the poker tables, "The Great Dane" is finally back. His recent online winnings are increasing on daily basis with his most frequent customers being trex313 and Urindanger. Unless he suffers a huge downswing, he could very well repeat his success from January.

Gus
Hansen started 2009 with a blast. According to Highstakesdb, he
made a profit of over $3 million across 450 sessions and 32,094 hands.
February, however, marked the beginning of a steady downfall as he
found himself amongst the top 10 losers for the month.

His trouble continued with a bad beat in the 2009 NBC National Heads-up Championship as he exited it sooner than he was hoping for, not to mention a couple of bad punches he took from Theo Jorgensen in their boxing match. Could things get any worse for Gus Hansen? Apparently not, as "The Great Dane" is back in business, at least when it comes to online poker.

hansen cuts through the opposition

Gus HansenGus Hansen (picture) has recently recorded several quite successful online HU PLO sessions with his victims mostly being trex313 and Urindanger. The hot streak began with a match against Brian Hastings on two HU PLO tables.

Hastings did start off with a roughly $250,000 lead, but then Hansen
turned the tides of poker to his favour and eventually finished the
session with a $388,000 profit. The biggest pot that went to Hansen's
pocket was for $224,000:

Hastings checked on the river that hand, Hansen bet, Hastings replied with an all-in and got immediately called. Hansen showed 4sKh5d7h while Hastings turned over QhJdKsJs. The board read KdAd5c5s6c, which secured Hansen a nice pot.

Another good session for Hansen featured him playing at both his HU PLO
and Mixed HA tables. Three biggest pots of this session he claimed were
for $205,000 against trex313, $238,000 against Urindanger and a $168,000 pot against Ziigmund.

Hansen's most recent chips harvest saw trex313 and Urindanger losing almost $1 million together after playing HU PLO against The Great Dane.
The biggest pots of the day were for $247,000 and $205,000 in a match
between Hansen and trex313, along with a nice $171,000 pot Hansen won
against Urindanger.

If this great run continues for Hansen, he could very well end March on top of the winners chart.
