The Poker Brat is back on top after getting revenge on Tom Dwan in their second High Stakes Duel. This time they bought in for $200,000 each, meaning Hellmuth left the PokerGO studio with $400,000.

Dwan now has the option to face Hellmuth again in a rematch, where the stakes will be doubled to a $400,000 buy-in. As Hellmuth suggested it looks very likely that will happen:

“The next match is for $800,000,” Hellmuth told PokerGO victory. “If I lose, I’m pretty sure that I’m not going to pony up $800,000 to play again, but I bet he will. If he doesn’t, then someone else will. I have to win twice more, and it could be Dwan then Ivey, or Dwan then Dwan, if I can win the next match.”

You can watch the first hour of the match for free below, before it moved over to PokerGO:

As per the rules of the challenge, only when one player wins three consecutive matches before Round 4 or two consecutive matches starting with Round 4 can they bank their winnings. Another challenger can step up to the plate if it is within 30 days of the last match. The stakes have to be doubled every time a new match is played.

And so continues Phil Hellmuth's remarkable run in the High Stakes Duel series, which has seen him profit $850,000 and win eight out of nine matches so far.
