High Stakes April Ranking: Patrik Antonius At The Top

April went to Patrik Antonius, as he recorded over $2 million in profit across the high stakes tables. Phil Ivey is also on the winners list, becoming a regular name on it this year.

Patrik AntoniusPatrik Antonius (pictured right) doubled up his efforts in April and recorded a profit
of over $2 million across 231 sessions and 18,044 hands. He was
successful at all tables, including the four tables in the durrrr Challenge where he has built up a steady lead over the past few weeks. He is up by nearly $500,000 in the challenge according to the latest reports.

Closest to Antonius is Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, who
finished April up by $1,567,579. It took him 129 sessions and 6,417
hands to achieve this. Other notable names on the winners list include
Di "Urindanger" Dang and Phil Ivey.

Ivey is a stranger to the losers' side this year and April was
another month in which he recorded a solid profit of $785,289 across 81
sessions and 5,575 hands. While some decide to take a swingy road of
big profits and big losses, Ivey takes on a steady road with sometimes
small, but still positive results month after month.

galfond digs the deepest hole
Phil GalfondWhile Ziigmund finished April closest to Patrik Antonius in terms of winnings, Phil "OMGCLayAiken" Galfond (pictured left) got even closer to him but with a minus in front of his "earnings". Galfond went down by $1,656,509 which puts him to the front of the losers' pack of April.

It took him 112 sessions and 6,487 hands to dig that deep hole, but the
man who did the most digging in April was Gus Hansen. Surprisingly,
Hansen ended April down by only $358,073.

He had a true rollercoaster ride, losing millions one week and then
winning $2 million in a matter of days. If April was a few days longer,
Hansen could've ended the month with some extra coins in his pocket.

Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro had a rough month also, though he lost
only half of what Galfond did. He played 10,264 hands across 199
sessions and finished April with $884,433 less than he began with.

David "MR B 2 U SON" Benyamine can't be proud of his play in April
either, going down by nearly $700,000. Close behind him is Tom "durrrr"
Dwan with a loss of $660,126 across 228 sessions and 21,146 hands.

Dwan lost his touch this month or the deck turned its back to him.
Either way, he will hopefully bounce back up in May and spice up things
both at the high stakes tables and the durrrr Challenge which is slowly
turning into Antonius' favour.
