News: High Stakes Tables Drain durrrr's Money

The recent action at the high stakes tables saw Gus Hansen and Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies taking down big pots, all at the cost of Tom "durrrr" Dwan and others.

The last seven days have given more than a few reasons to Tom "durrrr" Dwan (pictured right) to get a headache. His troubles began in a Mixed HA session with Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies and Phil Ivey. The ending result wasn't that bad, considering Ziigmund left the table up by roughly $160,000, but the action then continued between durrrr and Ziigmund in a HU PLO match.

Ziigmund completely dominated durrrr, taking down pots worth well-over $200,000. The biggest one worth $385,200 was also won by Ziigmund, as he hit a flush on the river. The action in that hand began with durrrr making a raise to $3,000, Ziigmund re-raising to $9,000, durrrr making it $27,000 and Ziigmund ending pre-flop action with a call.

The flop came and both players checked. The turn brought , Ziigmund checked again, durrrr bet $37,200 and Ziigmund called. The river came , Ziigmund bet $128,400 and durrrr made the call only to muck his hand as Ziigmund turned over for a rivered flush to take down the $385,200 pot.

Ziigmund ended the session against durrrr up by $880,000 and one day later, the two sat down again for another epic HU PLO battle. After a bad start, Ziigmund bounced back up to take several huge pots worth $318,000, $358,000 and $394,000 respectively. In the end, he won $404,000 which put him up by $1.4 million in just two days.

Few days later and durrrr got a small revenge by winning a sick session against Ziigmund in which they agreed that a threebet was required pre-flop, so the minimum for the players to put in was $9,000 each before the flop. Even though the pots they played for were worth over $400,000 and the biggest one was worth $578,000, durrrr came out of this encounter up by a humble $160,000.

To sum it all up, Gus Hansen joined the HU PLO action and sealed what seems to be one of the worse week's durrrr has had this year. The two played 809 hands which was enough for the Great Dane to make a profit of $1.02 million. With this loss, durrrr is once again down by more than $3 million, while Gus Hansen has risen up to over $2 million.
