Ivey claims Borgata used women and booze against him

Ivey claims he was seduced
The Phil Ivey vs Borgata edge-sorting case has really turned into something of a Soap Opera. Last week a court filing revealed the latest in Ivey's defence, claiming that the Borgata used booze and pretty waitresses against him.
In a statement from Ivey, he claimed that the casino gave him free alcohol and sent only the most attractive staff to serve him. He said:
It distracts you from your playing. I mean, anything they can do to give themselves an advantage. Everyone knows that alcohol impairs your judgment, and they offer that, and they have the pretty cocktail waitresses and they're all very flirty. They're talking to you, you know. I got quite a few numbers.
Ivey is standing firm that the 'edge-sorting' technique he used to win $9.6 million is fair and legal, and no different to the above tactics he claims the casino used against him.
Doc Sands vs the World
It seems that Doc Sands is desperate to fight somebody, anybody, for money. Shortly after his planned $500,000 fighting bet with Doug Polk was cancelled, Jack Schindler revealed he would be facing Sands in a $25,000 bare knuckle brawl.

According to Barry Hutter's Twitter account, the fight was cancelled yesterday but is set to go down today instead.
PokerStars sign two Asian Team Pros
More signs that poker could soon have a boom in Asia as PokerStars have added two more Asian Team Pros to their roster.
Chen-An Lin from Taiwan and Yaxi Zhu from China have joined Bryan Huang, Celina Lin, Vivian Im, Aditya Agarwal, Kosei Ichinose and Naoya Kihara, as part of their ever expanding Team Pro Asia division.
PokerStars’ Associate Director of Pro & Celebrity Marketing, Kirsty Thompson, said: “These players are highly respected in their local and national communities and will help to raise the profile of the game in their regions.”
