Jason Mercier wins 4th WSOP bracelet
And it appears he might have a bet that he can win two more at the series this year.
The $10,000 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship is widely considered by the pros as the 'poker purists' event, so it seems fitting this year it has been won by one of the most prolific players in the game.
Jason Mercier overcame a big final table to take down the event for $273,335 and his 4th career bracelet (and his second bracelet in consecutive WSOPs).
He defeated a field of 100 and a final table that included David Grey, Stephen Chidwick, Mike Watson and Alex Luneau on his way to the gold.
Just like last year when he won his third bracelet, Mercier came into the WSOP off the back of a successful SCOOP festival, and as always took as many bracelet prop bets as he could muster. He was one of this writer's top picks for a bracelet this year.
This is now his 4th bracelet in seven years, having won one in 2009, 2011 and 2015. He now has $3,602,987 in WSOP cashes, and $16,699,302 in overall lifetime cashes.
Evidently he is not stopping any time soon, as his Twitter account revealed he likely has a bet he will win three bracelets currently ongoing:
