Joe McKeehen lands second WSOP bracelet

2015 WSOP Main Event Champion adds the $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship to his bracelet collection.

Joe McKeehen last night bagged his second WSOP bracelet by taking down the $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship. His new title will now sit alongside the Main Event bracelet he famously landed in 2015.

While his 2015 victory was worth a stunning $7.6 million, last night’s score came in at more considered but the none the less decent, $311,817. To make his latest cash, McKeehen outlasted a field of 120 runners include notables such as Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Shaun Deeb, Ian Johns, Ben Yu and Sorel Mizzi, who came in third.

26-year-old McKeehen from Pennsylvania had started the final day with the second least amount of chips from the remaining fifteen players but outlasted them all until only himself and Jared Talarico were left before seeing him off too in a fairly rapid heads-up battle.

For McKeehen, who also has two WSOP Circuit rings to his name, his prize here was his fourth largest WSOP cash and his third tournament win of 2017. Back in May, he won the $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Big Stax in his home state, while in March he won the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown $2,200 No Limit Hold'em in Hollywood, CA. His total live cash now stands at $13,598,884.

McKeehen said;

“It felt good, I like this game, this game’s fun. It’s a $10,000 tournament. I won a few hands right off the bat. It's limit hold'em, you can get really short, but if you win some hands, you'll have all the chips again. I just won all the hands at the beginning of the day. I had a great run."
