Kevin Hart plays a $100k Super High Roller
The PokerStars Championship crowns its first millionaires in the $100,000 event with a very famous face among the participants.
The first $100,000 buy-in event of the year and first seven-figure prizes of 2017 are now in the record books, but arguably the bigger story from the PokerStars Championship was comedian Kevin Hart firing two bullets in this event.
The highest paid comedian in the world is also a well known poker fan, playing with the likes of Dan Bilzerian and Jean Robert-Bellande, but it was still a surprise to see him play this six-figure event.
Sadly for Hart, and perhaps some amazing potential publicity for the game, he did not make it to the final table, leaving a stacked line-up to fight for the first seven-figure prizes of 2017.
Another big win for Jason Koon
A very impressive 41 players with 13 re-entries played in this event and the final table included Dan Colman, Byron Kaverman, Connor Drinnan, Bryn Kenney and the in-form Charlie Carrel.
They all had to make way for Jason Koon, however, who took down this event for $1,650,300 after defeating Carrel heads-up.
It's been a very strong six months for Koon who has won a SHRPO Main Event and two $25,000 High Rollers since July last year. This result, however, he has called his career best.
