Kostritsyn leads as WCOOP Main reaches climax

The biggest online event of the year in Pokerstars' $10M guaranteed WCOOP Main Event played down from 246 Day 1 survivors to a final table last night, with high stakes pro Alexander 'joiso' Kostritsyn leading the way.

The Russian, whose career was jolted into life way back in 2008 when he took down the Aussie Millions Main Event for $1.45M, bagged up an impressive 19.8M chips at the end of Day 2 and must now be favourite for the huge $1.76M first prize.

Also enjoying life in final table promise land is reigning MicroMillions Main Event champion 'Nolet20'.

The Canidian defeated some 55,524 runners in July to turn $22 into $89,854, and just a few months later finds himself 5th in chips vying for online poker's most prestigious crown.

This year there are no members of Team PokerStars Pro at the final table - which resumes at 14:30 ET later today - but the hosts were represented admirably by newly signed Indian ambassador Adi Agarwal, who finished 13th for $53,000.

'krakukra' ships $10K 8-game

Amidst all the massive names alive in the final 11 of the WCOOP $10,300 buy-in 8-game event when play resumed yesterday evening, the last name you'd expect to see atop the payout table this morning would probably have been 'krakukra'.

But take it down he did - despite starting the day in 8th position - after a deal heads-up with Danish EPT champion Frederik 'Fred_Brink' Jensen.

'krakukra' pocketed the bracelet plus an extra $14K for winning the heads-up duel; Jensen took home a handsome $200,000.

Elsewhere, overnight chip leader Andrew 'ClockWyze' Pantling could only manage a third place finish, and it proved a frustrating end to the WCOOP festival for tournament superstars Shaun Deeb, Jason Mercier and Dan Kelly:
