Kristen Foxen wins U.S. Poker Open event for sixth PGT title

The Canadian GPI Female Player of the Year won her latest major title in Las Vegas last night, beating Jeremy Ausmus heads-up to claim another six-figure top score.

Kristen Foxen underlined her status as an elite tournament crusher last night in Las Vegas, winning the latest U.S. Poker Open final table for a top score of $198,000. With 66 entries each costing $10,000, this was the first five-figure event of the USPO series so far this year and saw a top prize of $198,000 up for grabs.

At the final table, Foxen took on some of the very best in the game right now, but outlasted Event #1 winner Brock Wilson (4th for $66,000) and the overnight chip leader Jeremy Ausmus heads-up to claim victory. The event had paid just 10 players, including Cherish Andrews (8th for $26,400), who followed her partner Brock Wilson into the winner’s circle yesterday.

Foxen’s latest win put her in fourth place on the USPO leaderboard, and in a good position to challenge for the $25,000 PGT Passport and Golden Eagle trophy that will go to the overall series winner. Unlike several showdowns heads-up this series, both Foxen and Ausmus were deep stacked by the time the battle for the PGT trophy started and needed a cooler to clinch it as Foxen flopped a set of sixes, which eventually beat Ausmus’ overpair to the flop of pocket nines.

Sixth PGT title for the adaptable Foxen

Since her first PokerGO Tour victory in 2019, Kristen Foxen has proven that it’s not just large field MTTs that are in her wheelhouse. Foxen's ability to adapt to smaller field high rollers has seen her win six PGT events so far, with over $15.1 million in tournament earnings coming her way in her professional poker career.

One of her most famous results wasn’t an outright victory but came when she finished 13th in the 2024 WSOP Main Event, coming close to becoming the first woman since Barbara Enright to make the final table, an honor claimed by Leo Margets in 2025 instead. The biggest prize Foxen has won in live events, however, is the $1,449,000 she won for coming fourth in last month’s Triton Jeju Main Event, which was won by Ben Tollerene in South Korea.

Now in with a chance of winning the 2026 U.S. Poker Open and claiming the Golden Eagle trophy and a $25,000 PGT Passport, Kristen Foxen is sure to be pushing hard for her seventh PGT title and yet more winnings during this 2026 U.S. Poker Open series.
