The LAPT Grand Final at Mar del Plata, Argentina is well on its way with Day 1A behind us. A total of 140 players came and only 27 of them made it through the day.

of the Grand Final event saw 140 players taking their seats, including
Team PokerStars Pros J.C. Alvarado, Chris Moneymaker, Maria "Maridu" Mayrinck, as well as Boris Becker and other notable names.
Boris Becker didn't get to play much, as he hit the rail in the early
stage and the same fate caught his wife Lilly Kerssenberg later on. She
spent most of the day seated at the same table as Chris Moneymaker.

Moneymaker (pictured left) was one of the bigger sharks cruising the tablesbut ended his adventure near the end of play. Most of his
chips flew away after his pocket tens fell short against A-K, followed
by another encounter in which he was chasing a straight, as he had an
open-ended straight draw, but with no luck on the turn and river.
Another pro who hit the rail was Maria Mayrinck. She moved all-in on the flop with two clubs,

The day ended with a 77 years old Jaime Ateneloff in the chip lead, followed by a very young talent, Jorge Landazuri De Los Rios. Only 27 players of the starting 140 made it through the day, as they now await for the survivors of Day 1B.
