Lex Veldhuis wins the Sunday Warm-Up on stream
Twitch poker's biggest star took down a Major live on stream in the early hours of the morning yesterday to start 2019 in style.
1,069 players entered the $215 tournament, which has long been considered the second biggest regular tournament in poker after the recently reduced buy-in Sunday Million. Lex took it down for $34,690.
After a long final table which featured online beast Jonathan 'Proudflop' Proudfoot, Lex managed to get the job done in two hands when play went three-handed:
It wasn't his biggest stream win, that would be when he won the Thursday Thrill for $55,000. Nor was it his biggest stream, he managed 16,016 on Sunday but attracted 32,839 when he streamed a deep WCOOP run last year.
But as he expressed after the win on Twitter, this was a monkey off his back, as he finally has a Sunday Major on his Twitch wins resume.
We did it fam! Won the @PokerStars Sunday Warmup for $34.600!!! So happy right now. Huge monkey off my back. Thanks for tuning in and the massive support. What a way to start the year!! pic.twitter.com/s9KWyZXN0O

It's been a good year so far for Twitch fans railing Sunday Majors, as Parker Talbot chopped the Sunday Million last week on stream. Plus they got to see this insane hand.
