Limit Championship – Final Table set

The final table of the $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship (Event 30) is set. Aaron Katz is chip leader. Andy Bloch and JC Tran are also still in the race.

Medium-sized Field of Participants

With 218 players, the field of participants is bigger than at the Mix
Championship (192 players) and at the Stud Championship (158). The number of participants for the Pot-Limit Hold'em Championship (352) wasn't reached though. The prize pool amounts to $2,049,200, of which $496,931
will go to the winner. 27 places are paid off.

Many Stars at the Start

For the pros the Championship events of the WSOP are of course a must. As expected, the star density was again very high: Amongst others, Jennifer Harman, Phil Ivey, Bill
Chen, David Oppenheim, Robert Mizrach, Chad Brown, Huck Seed, Liz Lieu,
Alex Kravchenko, Men Nguyen, Marcel Luske, Scotty Nguyen, Rolf
Slotboom, Josh Arieh, Max Pescatori, Todd Brunson, Gabe Kaplan and
Justin Bonomo participated. Also last year's winner Saro Getzoyan stepped up to defend his title. Alas, they all dropped out in the first two days of the tournament already.

Broadways

Alex Kravchenko lost against Jerrod Ankenman. With he pushed his last chips into the middle of the table pre-flop. Ankenman called with . The flop came with and gave Ankenman the open-ended straight draw. He won with runner-runner flush though when the turn and river came up with .

Spencer Lawrence also fell victim to the Broadways. With he was facing Todd Witteles'
and dominated him with almost 75%. The board gave Witteles
the needed six, Lawrence dropped out as 22nd.

Queens

Hoyt Corkins got busted by the ladies. Katz busted his pocket pair with when he made the diamond flush on the river.

Michael Mizrachi had no luck with the queens either. However, he didn't have them but his opponent, Chris Vitch. Mizrachi held
pocket fours. Already on the flop came another queen and Mizrachi
dropped out on rank 15. Only a bit earlier he had lost with a set of sevens against Jerrod Ankenman's straight and then ran with A-K into Cy Jassinowsky's kings. A bitter end!

Second Bracelet for Katz?

Katz will go into the finale tomorrow as chip leader and his chances on getting another bracelet are quite high. He is the only player on the final table who already has a golden bracelet.
Or will Andy Bloch finally win his first bracelet - after 15 WSOP cashes without a win? JC Tran already cashed 19 times at the WSOP, but doesn't have a bracelet either.
