Negreanu willing to bet $5m on 15 WSOP cashes

We recap some of the big stories from the last week including the Joe Ingram Podcast returns and Phil Hellmuth takes on a $500k heads-up challenge.

Last week Daniel Negreanu revealed on his DAT Poker Podcast that he is taking an unusual route to winning the WSOP Player of the Year race (for him) which is playing more small buy-in events.

The scoring system these days is such that it favours lots of cashes over cashes in big events, hence Chris Ferguson's controversial POY title in 2017

He also revealed he would happily make an even money bet up to $5 million that he could cash 15 times this year at the series.

Hellmuth vs Yong for $500k

We so often see Phil Hellmuth claiming he could beat another player heads-up but rarely do we see him actually take up the challenge.

However, at a yet to be determined time (but probably the next MILLIONS event in Montreal in May) he will be taking on Dusk Till Dawn owner Rob Yong in five $100,000 heads-up matches.

Keep an eye on his Twitter feed to find out when (and for all your favourite Poker Brat celebrity name dropping).

Antonius wins event named after him

It's quite a lot of pressure having an entire event named after you, so it must have been a relief for Patrik Antonius to win an event at the Patrik Antonius Poker Challenge in Tallinn.

He took down the €10,200 Championship Event for €78,100.

Though if the event happens again next year, this is the repeat most poker fans will be looking for.

Papi is back!
