PartyPoker Big Game IV: Day 1 Concluded

The 48-hour long cash game sponsored by PartyPoker reached the end of its first day. Team PokerStrategy.com member Simon "ScHnibl0r" Munz was also playing, but he was eventually voted out.

The first 24 hours of PartyPoker's televised cash game are over. The mysterious Swedish pro did not attend, allegedly due to some personal issues according to Tony G's blog.

Around 10:55 GMT, Simon schnibl0r Munz was seated at the Big Game IV table, taking Luke "FullFlush" Schwartz's place. PartyPoker introduced a special feature for this game which enabled players to vote off periodically one member of the table in a Big Brother-like manner.

ScHnibl0r: "It was a cool game"

Simon's final hand saw him holding and he bet £900 into a four-way pot. The board was and Neil Channing was the only one to make the call, holding . The fell on the river and ScHnibl0r bet £2,100. Channing raised it up to £10,100 and Simon folded the lower flush.

After this loss, he was down to a short stack of £5,025. The Team PokerStrategy.com member was eventually voted out after having played for approximately 6 hours. Nevertheless, ScHnibl0r said he enjoyed the experience:

"I played very loose and aggressive, felt comfortable and built up some nice reads", he says. He then adds: "I brought €40,000 (£35,000) and I bought in three times for £10,000. In the end I was left with £5,000 but I didn't want to buy the additional £5,000 since with a short stack you have a huge edge on such a table."

ScHnibl0r had to leave the table with a deficit of approximately £30,000, but he was quite satisfied with his game:

"In general it was a cool game. (...) Too bad that I couldn't play longer, though, but I showed my A++ game in all but one pot and felt very comfortable. We'll see, maybe I'll have a little bit more luck next time and I won't be the short stack."
