With his wiry frame and closely shaved hair cut, Phil Collins would look more at home in the United States Marine Corps than he does at the poker table. Collins has proved his combat skills in the online arena, amassing over $3 million in tournament winnings. Highlights of his online career include victory in the Full Tilt $1k for $89,750, and a triumph in the $75k Guaranteed.

Collins, whose online handle "USCPhildo" is a testament to his time at the University of South Carolina, boasted quite an entourage at the 2011 WSOP. Collins - a firm favourite amongst 2+2 regulars - had many friends drive down to support him, all chanting renditions of "In the air tonight" every time he scooped a pot.

Collins soaks all the raucous support up, "The dealers are laughing, the floors are laughing, and most of the players at my table are smiling and think it's pretty funny. I'm probably never going to get this deep in the main event ever again, so I'd better enjoy it while I'm here".

Collins counts tournament maestro Jason Mercier amongst his close friends, and former Full Tilt Poker pro Erik Lindgren as one of his backers. Away from the tables, he enjoys college basketball and baseball. Collins credits Phil Hellmuth as the best live, NLH tournament player, but casts doubts over his ability to make an impact online.

Collins would be a shrewd pick for outright victory given his impressive online resume and ability to exploit the tighter and less experienced players at the table with his aggression. The way he steamrollered the ESPN feature table on Day 6 will act as a powerful warning sign.
