Phil Galfond outs a scammer
We round-up some stories you may have missed, including Dan Bilzerian's $1.2 million prop bet and a famous movie star wins a poker tournament.
Phil Galfond on outing scammers
Often one of the great voices of reason in the poker community, Phil Galfond has earned high praise again this week for outing a player who scammed him out of $200,000 and encouraging other players to do the same when they are in that situation.
In an Op-Ed piece for PokerNews.com, Galfond revealed that high stakes player Samuel Touil borrowed $250,000 from Galfond, and after many attempts to get it back (and only getting $50,000) he now realises he never will.
He wasn't prepared to give the details of how he came to lend this money in the first place because it involved other players, but he has urged everyone to get into the habit of exposing scammers to protect poker:
We need to fight this instinct, not only to pressure those who owe us, but to show other would-be thieves that they can expect to be outed, and to protect good people from becoming victims.
Bilzerian bets Perkins
Dan Bilzerian and Bill Perkins arguably throw around more money than the rest of the poker world combined, so get them both together and this was inevitable.
The two have made a $1.2 million prop bet that Dan cannot cycle 278 miles, in the Las Vegas sun, within 48 hours.

No word yet on when the bet will take place, but Bilzerian is not exactly shy about his personal life so no doubt the details will be revealed on his social media.
Cold deck for KidPoker

James Woods wins LAPC side event
In the US he is arguably one of the more famous actors-turned-poker-players and this week Casino star James Woods has won a side event at the LA Poker Classic.
He defeated a field of 88 in the $1,100 Omaha Hi/Lo event to take down the first prize of $21,065. Those of you who assume he is a gazillionaire may be surprised to learn he actually chopped the event for an identical prize with runner-up Mack Lee.
His biggest career cash was in the WPT Main Event at this same festival in 2006 when he came 24th for $39,859.
