Phil Galfond suspended from Twitter for abusive language
The poker legend has been handed a suspension for aggressively calling out potential heads-up opponents. Be warned, NSFW.
In a week where poker Twitter has been set alight by heads-up challenges and bad-natured feuds, Phil Galfond has been banned from Twitter for abusing potential heads-up opponents.
It is difficult to ascertain what was said now that his account is suspended, but poker fans on 2+2 reported that he called out most of the major players in the recent heads-up feuds including Doug Polk, Nik Airball, and Garrett Adelstein.
One eagle-eyed fan, suspecting the tweets would be deleted, did screenshot a few of the things that led to the ban:
It seemed like Galfond was adopting a change in strategy for attracting heads-up opponents, opting for the more aggressive approach recently favoured by Polk and Airball. It was so out of character a few poker players have suggested maybe his account had been hacked:
Whatever happened, Galfond is currently suspended from Twitter, which is bad news for him given he has an ongoing social media prop bet to increase his followers:
