Phil Hellmuth to play the Main Event after all
In the most predictable U-turn of the year, the Poker Brat has reneged on his boycott of the WSOP Main Event.

Earlier this year, Phil Hellmuth caused a stir by claiming he was going to skip the WSOP Main Event and his trademark costumed entrance, in protest about the length of the structures.
In a move that, let's be honest, surprised nobody, the Poker Brat has announced he is playing the Main Event after all.
He polled his audience about whether he should play and committed to the decision. 75% wanted him to play, so he is.
I am 100% playing in the @WSOP Main Event!
I’ll be coming in themed as “Highway To Hellmuth.” Might dress up like an 80’s rock star. Can’t wait to share the artwork we have for this Grand Main Event Entrance@BetRivers might give away a Ford Mustang#POSITIVITY #PHNiceLife pic.twitter.com/x4XLYLG3El

He has vowed to skip the Main Event next year (this writer is now taking bets that he will indeed play the Main Event next year) in protest of the long tournament structures. He has 'demanded' a day off on day six in order to help older players recover from the demanding structure.
So poker fans can rest assured, for another year at least, that their favourite poker star will be disrupting the play on Day 1 to accommodate his grand entrance cosplay.
