Poker's Triple Crown claimed again
The Triple Crown is won for the 2nd time this summer as Harrison Gimbel becomes the 7th player in history to win EPT, WPT and WSOP titles.
For the second time in as many weeks, poker’s Triple Crown has been won following the success enjoyed by 26-year-old Harrison Gimbel in the WSOP $3,000 NLHE Event.
To earn the Triple Crown, a player needs to win a WPT event, a WSOP bracelet plus an EPT or its replacement, a PokerStars Championship title.
Mohsin Charania achieved the same feat just two weeks ago, at the time joining the likes of Gavin Griffin, who was the first to do so back in 2008, Roland De Wolfe, Jake Cody, Betrand Grospellier and Davidi Kitai, whose win has been disputed in the past owing to his WPT title coming in a closed event.
Previously, Gimbel won the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event in 2010 for $2.2 million and last year’s WPT Rolling Thunder, which was worth a cool $275,112, adding to his $4.6 million in live tournament earnings.
He has also brought home a further $2.8m in online winnings, the biggest contributor to which came in this year’s SCOOP when he and Charlie Carrel chopped giving Gimbel a take of $1,122,873.

Gimbel’s latest result, which earned him a $645,922 payday, marked his first WSOP bracelet after he overcame 1,349 entrants which included high profile money makers Ryan Van Sanford, who came in third, Daniel Negreanu, Ryan Laplante and Tony Dunst.
