Mobile games, all the new variants and a longer late registration period are all coming to a private online game near you soon.

Home Games have been huge since the lockdown

One of the undeniable booms for the poker industry during the lockdown has been the rise of online poker home games. PokerStars had over 300,000 new games registered in April and 'where to play online poker with friends' was the most common poker search term.

As a result, PokerStars have just announced a major upgrade to their Home Game format.

Keep your eyes out for the opportunity to play your Home Games both on Android and iOS in the near future. You can now also play some of the more niche formats with your friends including PKO, Total KO, Showtime, 6+, Split, Fusion and Swap Hold'em.

Late registration is also being extended to as long as 90 minutes, as friends were finding it hard with just a 10 minute late reg period. There will also be an improved interface overall for the club managers.

They are not the only site to improve their Home Game offering this month. 888poker were one of the first operators to quickly add a private game feature in response to Covid-19 and now they have added their Home Games to their mobile app. You still have to create the games on a desktop PC but now friends can join it on their smartphone.
