PokerStars put betting cap on 8-Game Mix

No Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha will now have a 40 big blind betting cap on 8-Game Mix tables.

Regulars in these games received the following email this week:

From November 21, PokerStars will be applying a betting cap of 40 big blinds to the No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha rounds of 8-Game. This change has been frequently requested by mixed game players and is being made to prevent the big bet rounds from dominating the mix of games.

8-Game Mix on PokerStars plays a rotation of No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, Stud Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud, Razz, Limit Hold'em, Limit Omaha Hi/Lo and 2-7 Triple Draw

Currently the Big Bet games are played at one quarter of the blind levels of the Limit games. So for example at the $2/$4 tables Razz is played with bets of $2/$4 but PLO is played with blinds of $0.50/$1. This apparently is not enough to stop the two Big Bet games from dominating the six Limit games, so now the cap has been introduced.

Do you play 8-Game on PokerStars? Do you agree with these changes or do you think instead the Big Bet blind levels should have been decreased more? Did you prefer it how it was? Let us know in the comments:
