PokerStars to Introduce New Bet Sizing Buttons and Much More
Constantly evolving and improving, PokerStars will be rolling out yet another batch of software updates to make the world's largest poker room even more user friendly. Here's a look at what's in store this week for PokerStars players.
In September we saw a huge software update and some very useful new features on PokerStars.
The poker giants obviously have their eye on the ball and have made a load more improvements just two months later. The quality of the software has always been paramount to Pokerstars' success and the enhancements keep on rolling in thick and fast.
Initially, only a few players will see the updates, but once the testing phase is through, PokerStars players will be able to utilise all the improvements.
We expect to see these implemented over the course of this week or so. Here are the upcoming software updates:
- Bet slider options and bet sizing buttons:
- The mouse wheel can now be used to move the bet slider when hovered over any slider, whether the table's selected or not. There are several options, located in 'Options' -> 'Bet Slider Options that allow you to customise betting functions to best suit your needs.
- The ability to customise your bet sizing shortcut buttons is the best of the bunch. A 'Bet Pot' button, a 'Percentage of the Pot' betting button and the functionality to bet in terms of Big Blind multiples, are just a few of the new options available.
- Visual representation of time to act: A running-down bar will now appear to indicate when your time bank will be activated. You'll also be alerted when you've been continuously tanking for far too long and have no time bank left!
- Detached chat: This new option enables you to detach the chat window. When multi-tabling, the default 'Merge' mode displays only one detached chat window shared among all the tables you have open and could prove very useful.
- Tournament summaries saved to hard drive: You can now enable saving of tournament summaries to your hard drive. To do so, just go to 'Options' -> 'Tournament Summary Options...'
- Sit & Go auto-close option: This added option will close a Sit & Go tourney without any notification when it ends. The option is 'Options' -> 'Advanced Multi-Table Options...' -> 'Auto-close SNG without notification' and is off by default.
- Filter improvements:
- The Sit & Go filter now allows you to filter by players currently registered and by number of total entrants in a Sit & Go.
- The keywords "AND" and "OR" allow you to construct more complex keyword searches in the text box.
- A button which will reset to default settings has been added.
- Apply layout to active monitor: If you love your multi-tabling so much that you use multiple monitors, you can now tile/cascade/stack the tables in whichever way you want on each monitor.
- Options menu re-grouping: The options menu in the lobby has been shuffled around slightly, making navigation that little bit easier.
- Miscellaneous changes: Tournament registration info will now have the tournament name stated clearly. This will minimise the chance of mis-registering and stumbling into the wrong tourney.
