PokerStrategy.com at World Poker Tour National Series Marbella
The record-setting World Poker Tour National Series Marbella is underway and PokerStrategy.com members, staff and coaches all headed to Costa del Sol for tournaments, cash games, parties and Spanish sun.
The World Poker Tour National Series Marbella has completed both opening days, giving us a record WPT National field of 375 players. Of these, 184 remain to contest the €562,500 prize pool including PokerStrategy.com staff and coaches
yulia, julien and danielk.
PokerStrategy.com members and staff were out in force for the opening days. In addition to the €1,500 Main Event, PokerStrategists are treated to a host of side events including the €770 Everest Cup as well as a community meet-up at Puerto Banus's Newscafe.

Day 1a saw 166 players enter the event with 69 players surviving to Day 2 action today. Among them was French PokerStrategy.com coach julien, who returns with a stack of 21,225. Other PokerStrategy.com members to make it through Day 1a included fairyverde.
On Day 1b, a much larger field of 210 was whittled down to 115, making this a record-setting field for the WPT National series. PokerStrategy.com patches dominated the room, with yulia, danielk, pleno1, petesamprascrack and infinito46 participating in the second opening day.
The hand of the day highlight goes to pleno1 though unfortunately, it is not a hand he will soon forget. Having raised the cutoff with 
, he recieved a call from the small blind and saw a dream flop of 
. However, when by the river the pair had built a pot of over 120,000 (representing four times the average stack), his opponent rolled over 
for flopped quads to take the pot in an ice-cold deck.

Day 2 of the World Poker Tour National Series Marbella plays out today with 184 players remaining in contention.

After Day 1b, PokerStrategy.com members and staff headed to Puerto Banus to the Newscafe nightclub, where a team of senoritas attended members with a healthy supply of drinks and music blared until the early hours of the morning.
In addition, PartyPoker also hosted their own player party for the WPT competitors, featuring food, free drinks and shisha pipes for all attendees.
