Satellite winner takes down EPT Prague

The poker dream as a player making his first live poker trip takes down one of the biggest titles in poker.

The first European Poker Tour event in two years was a huge success, not only did it host some record breaking fields but the Main Event attracted a very impressive 1,190 entries. 

It also featured the dream scenario for poker marketers everywhere, a satellite winner taking it down. Grzegorz Glowny of Poland turned a €530 satellite into a €692,252 payday to become poker's latest EPT champion. 

An ICM deal four ways gave him the lion's share of the prize pool after the finalists played on for €110,796 and the trophy.

As is perhaps going to be the case for a lot of players after the pandemic, this was actually Glowny's first live poker experience and this, plus a side event, are his first recorded cashes on The Hendon Mob. Clearly they won't be his last. 

Next up for the European Poker Tour is EPT Monte Carlo from April 28 to May 7.
