Steve O'Dwyer wins the Irish Open

The Super High Roller knocked out every single player at the final table to take down the biggest Irish Open of all time.

Steve O'Dwyer is most typically associated with the Super High Roller scene but his heart has always been with Irish poker. He is either American or Irish depending on which particular rankings database you look at and he currently lives in Dublin.

It may not be his biggest victory but winning the biggest ever Irish Open yesterday looks like his favourite. He put on one of the most dominant final table performances where he knocked out every single player on his way to the €318,700 first prize and the trophy.

“I am really happy to win this, maybe more than any other poker tournament I have ever played,” O’Dwyer said following his victory. “It was special, especially not being able to play live after such a long time.”

More proof that there is a huge pent up demand for live poker, the Irish Open returned after two years hiatus to attract a record breaking field. 2,040 entries in total for this event to show that live poker is booming across Europe once again.
