Team PokerStars Pro Adds Marcel Luske And Jason Mercier
Team PokerStars Pro has added two pros to its roster, Marcel Luske and Jason Mercier. While Luske is a veteran of poker, Mercier is a young gun, but already highly successful in his short career.
Marcel "The Flying Dutchman" Luske is one of the most recognized personae at the tables, not only due to his outfit but also impressive skills which have carried him to victory time and time again ever since he started cruising through the poker waters.
It wasn't until he won 3 tournaments in just two weeks that Luske decided to quit his job and focus on poker. The three victories granted him $85,000, but it was nothing compared to what he achieved throughout the year 2001, in which he was so successful that he won the "Player of the Year" title at the European Poker Awards.
His rise continued over the next two years and he nearly made it to the final table of the 2003 WSOP Main Event, finishing in 14th place. Since then, he won the Five-Star World Poker Classic in April 2005, the Hall of Fame Poker Classic in Paris in July 2005 and the Five-Star World Poker Classic in April 2006.
Besides winning tournaments, Marcel Luske (pictured left) also found time to mentor Noah Boeken, Kirill Gerasimov and the WSOP bracelet winner David Williams who also finished as a runner-up in the 2004 WSOP Main Event. Luske has also founded the Federation Internationale de Poker Association (FIDPA) and supports several charity projects. On top of it all, with his singing habits at the poker tables, he is even considering a singing career which is one of his long time ambitions.
Mercier (picture right) has won many major tournaments, such as the PokerStars EPT Season Four event in San Remo for which he earned an amazing $1,372,893, the PokerStars EPT Season Five event in Barcelona and the PokerStars EPT London £1 Million Showdown High Roller tournament in which he had to conquer a final table with likes of John Juanda, Scotty Nguyen, David Benyamine and Isabelle Mercier.
To make his list of successes complete, Mercier has also cashed four times at this year's WSOP and won his first bracelet in the $1,500 PLO Event. Joining Team PokerStars Pro was almost a logical next step for Mercier, since he was already a top VIP at PokerStars and had the status of SuperNova Elite. He was quite excited by the opportunity to play for PokerStars:

With a veteran of poker such as Marcel Luske and one of the top young guns currently in the world, Jason Mercier, Team PokerStars Pro has certainly strengthened its line-up.
