Third Edition of Poker In The Park Coming Up

The third edition of Poker In The Park will feature a 50 player Charity Poker Tournament as well as a two-day discussion on some of the hottest issues in the poker world.

While WSOPE, EPT and English Poker Open are scheduled to take place in London, there is yet another event coming up - the "Poker In The Park" festival. Taking place at Leicester Square on 13th and 14th of August, it will feature a 50 player Charity Poker Tournament hosted by two Main Event Champs Jamie Gold (pictured right) and Peter Eastgate. There will also be a two-day discussion on some of the hottest issues related to the poker world.

The charity tournament will help the Jamie Gold Foundation in raising funds for charitable organizations it supports. Some of those organizations include the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, the Muscular Dystrophy Association/ALS Division (from which Gold's father passed away from) and the Montel Williams MS Foundation and the Fallen Heroes Fund.

Thousands of people expected to attend

On Thursday, August 13 Peter Eastgate will be the host of a Q&A and once that is over, Alex Rousso will take the stage and discuss the necessity of knowing statistical information while sitting at the tables. Nik Persaud will take the microphone next and explain how players can use internet to improve their game. The 2008 Irish Open champ Neil Channing will wrap up the evening with a discussion about poker tells.

Several more poker pros including Liv Boeree (pictured right), Marc Goodwin and Michael Greco will speak about different aspects of poker on Friday, August 14. With such a rich program, the third edition of Poker In The Park is expected to draw thousands of people, as it attracted 10,000 people last year. It is free of charge and provides both useful information and fun for poker fans from across the world.
