Third double-bracelet winner of the 2016 WSOP
Yet another non NLHE specialist has managed to win two gold bracelets by the halfway stage of the World Series of Poker.
32 events have concluded at the World Series of Poker with another 37 events yet to conclude, and remarkably six of the bracelets have been won by just three men.
We are all aware of Jason Mercier's heroics following his prop bet, and then earlier this week Ian Johns did the same thing.
Now Britain's Benny Glaser is the latest player to win two bracelets in a single series.
On June 16 he won Event #16: $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo Split for $244,103 and last night he won Event #32: $10,000 Omaha Hi/Lo Split Championship for $407,194. Back-to-back Omaha Hi/Lo bracelet wins!
This is Glaser's third bracelet, having won a $1,500 Triple Draw Lowball bracelet last year.
All of which once again confirms that the way to win bracelets is to focus on non-No Limit Hold'em games in your career, as just like Ian Johns, Glaser is a Mixed Games specialist. All six of these double-bracelet wins have been in events other than No Limit Hold'em.
Finally, special mention has to go to Jason Mercier, who made the final table of this event on his mission to win three bracelets in one series. As things stand Mercier leads the WSOP player of the Series race with 1,403.99 points, with Glaser next in line with 1,156.57 points.
