Trial begins for murdered poker player

Sickening new evidence has been revealed in the murder trial of London-based poker player Mehmet Hassan, which began earlier this week.

Last March, British poker player Mehmet Hassan was found beaten to death in his Islington flat after falling foul to a suspected honey-trap killing.

Almost a year on from the tragic incident and his murder trial is finally underway, with three individuals accused of playing a role in the brutal crime.

25-year old care assistant Leonie Granger has been accused of murder and false imprisonment.

Her 28-year old boyfriend Kyrron Jackson and his accomplice Michael Chandler are accused of robbing Hassan.

All three suspects vehemently deny the charges, but the prosecution has presented what looks to be damning evidence against them.

Cold-blooded greed

Hassan, who "enjoyed the company of women", was seen sharing a drink with Granger at the Palm Beach Casino in Mayfair the night he was killed.The pair were then spotted "kissing passionately" before leaving the venue for Hassan's flat.

"Sadly Miss Granger was not interested in Mehmet Hassan for anything but his money", the prosecution told the court. "And that is how he came to be tied up and kicked to death in his own flat."

Once she'd rendered Hassan helpless, Granger allegedly ordered a cab and gave instructions to Jackson and Chandler from the vehicle, who had begun searching the property for cash.

"Swear down. I don't believe it. Don't tell me the money isn't there. I saw it," the cab driver overheard. "Look in the drawer. Look under the cabinet."

Perhaps most disturbingly of all, the jury were also shown footage taken from Granger's phone (see video below) of the trio celebrating with Hassan's money, throwing it around and having simulated sex with it.
