Only two days ago, PokerStrategy reported about 'Lucky Gus'. In July only, 'The Great Dane' was able to generate a plus of almost $1.3M. Two days ago, Lady Luck left the sympathetic Dane though. In only 4,942 hands, Hansen lost almost $1.2M.

Gus Hansen's game only knows two ways. Either it goes steeply upwards, or radically downwards. If you look at his tracked hands for the current month on Full Tilt Poker (FTP), he was in the green zone with a breath-taking $1,281,210 until July 21st included. David Oppenheim followed in the internal FTP ranking with only about half of Hansen's profit ($670,097).

On July 22nd, Hansen lost $1,192,471 in 4,292 tracked hands and thus almost all of his monthly winnings in only one day. Everything over and done? Not with Gus Hansen. Yesterday, he made a profit of $529,934 in 2,541 hands, even though he had to let go one of the biggest pots of the day when his flush was beaten by a higher flush:

Hansen showed and had flopped the flush, but ICallSoWhat held and thus had the nut-flush. The on the river was meaningless.

Hansen's monthly balance sheet still shows a plus of $618,672. This even makes him the sixth-highest winner on the FTP High Stakes in July. For how long, that's another question though. Since the beginning of this year, Hansen lost $1,091,025 on the FTP High Stakes. $865,199 of the losses originate from his Pot-Limit Omaha sessions (56,171 hands). At the H.O.R.S.E it looks even more gloomy for the Dane. There he leads the loser list for the year of 2008 with $828,082 (13,828 hands) so far. In stark contrast to this are his winnings of $642,256 in only 5,252 hands in the Fixed-Limit Omaha H/L.
