Vanessa Selbst Wins PCA High Roller for $1.4 Million
Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst has taken down another major title and shot to the top of the Womans' All-Time Money List for tournament cashes. In addition, two PokerStrategy.com coaches took six-figure prizes at the final.

 Recently-engaged Selbst is now the highest-earning female tournament player of all time.
This $1.4 million win puts her over $1.1 million ahead of Kathy Liebert, with a total of $7 million in tournament cashes. "There's plenty of room for women to get involved in this game, to get really good at it, and to beat all the guys," said Selbst after her win. "It feels really, really good to win a High Roller. This is probably the toughest final table I've ever played at. So, to be able to come out on top is really special." |
As befits a line-up of such aggressive players, the action was fast and furious - within a quarter of an hour, we had lost Micah Raskin, Tobias 'PokerNoob' Reinkemeier and Bryn Kenney.
All three fell to 'olekonjole' who was building quite the stack. However, he chose a bad time to bluff Selbst as she had flopped top set.
This gave her a dominating lead, extended by a blind vs. blind battle against Shaun Deeb, in which she called off with

board, only to spike a king on the river to eliminate Deeb.
'olekonjole' fell next, with Mike Watson claiming his chips after receiving queens when 'olekonjole' committed his remaining stack with a pair of fives.
It took just 15 minutes to lose three players, but 45 minutes to go from three-handed to heads-up. Finally, Selbst induced a river bluff from Watson to get heads-up with a 3:1 chip lead.
Selbst began strong before Troyanovsky doubled up and then doubled again to bring stacks close to even. The last hand was simply an inevitable all-in, as Selbst picked up 
against the Russian's 
and sealed the deal with a rivered ace.
