WCOOP Roundup - VojtaR Takes 2nd Place in Main Event
After another exhilarating WCOOP, the Canadians have just pipped the Russians and the British for the most money won per country. Kallllle shipped the Main Event, but we're more excited about the 2nd place finisher- PokerStrategy.com coach VojtaR.

The 2011 World Championship of Online Poker on PokerStars saw a staggering 119,832 entrants between 62 events. PokerStars guaranteed $30 million in prizes, and the events saw an actual total prizepool of $47,120,800.
Event 1 kicked off the series on September 4th, and many of the world's best tournament players spent the large majority of September staying inside to partake in as many tournaments as possible.
Yesterday the series finally culminated with the conclusion of the massive $5,200 buy-in Main Event. That tournament guaranteed a $5 million prize pool- and the event far surpassed that by attracting 1,627 players for a ridiculous $8,135,000 in prizes.
PokerStrategy.com coach vojtar finished an amazing 2nd place in the Main Event, and will pocket $710,000 for his impressive achievement. Congratulations!

Several noteworthy players accomplished some very impressive feats during the course of the 2011 WCOOP.
Both Daniel "DJK123" Kelly and Anders "Donald" Berg won events this year, placing each of them in a 3-way tie with Ryan "g0lfa" D'angelo for "most WCOOP wins of all-time." All three players have won 3 WCOOP events.
A Brazilian player known online as "MiPwnYa" was the only player to win 2 events during the 2011 WCOOP.
Some of the other well-known players to win tournaments this series include Steve "gboro780" Gross, Mike "GoLeafsGoEh" Leah, Shane "shaniac" Schleger, and Joe "ender555" Ebanks. There are certainly many more that could have been included on this list as well.
The player with the most cashes this WCOOP was "Big_Nemo" with 17, and he was followed by Daniel "KidPoker" Negreanu who had 15 cashes in his most impressive online tournament series to date. Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier was 4th on this list with 13.
"2FLY2TILT" of Spain made an amazing 4 final tables, and tied "Big_Nemo" for first place on the WCOOP Leaderboard. Daniel Negreanu finished in 3rd on the leaderboard, followed by Kevin "ImALuckSac" MacPhee in 4th.

The 2011 WCOOP Main Event drew 1,627 players at $5,200 a piece. Every big name in online poker was there to grab a piece of the $8,135,000 prize pool.
The highest placing PokerStars pro was Mickey "mement_mori" Petersen who finished in 52nd place for a bit north of $22K.
The highest placing PokerStrategy.com coach? vojtar in 2nd place.
The final table of the Main Event included German online pro "OU THE NICK" who ultimately finished in 8th place and Mike "GoLeafsGoEh" who finished in 3rd for $560,000.
The player who took home the grand prize was a Danish player named "Kallllle." He dominated the final table, and when a deal was reached 5-handed he had enough chips to secure better than 2nd place money. He ultimately went on to win the event for a massive $1,260,018.50.
Here are the final table payouts from the event- and keep in mind that there was a 5-way chop so the prizes aren't consecutive for a few of the places.

The WCOOP attracts players from all over the world, and this year the competition between them was closer than usual with the absence of the United States. Here are the top 5 performing countries in several categories:
Most Money Won - Canada with $6,473,865.14. Russia came in 2nd, UK 3rd, Germany 4th, Sweden 5th.
