WPT World Championship Final - Day 5
Day 5 of the $25.000 World Poker Tour Final in the Bellagio whittled the field down to six participants. Gus Hansen was able to reclaim the chip lead.
Gus Hansen
will return to the Bellagio's final table tomorrow as the chip leader. With over 8.5 million chips he was able to establish an impressive edge over his competition. Especially after the break the Dane really turned up the heat. First he took Nick Binger out of the tournament, when he hit his flush on the river. David Tran also fell victim to Gus as his pocket aces sent him to the rail. At this point, Gus' stack already amounted to roughly 5 million chips, but it was far from over.
After a raise from Michael Gracz, Hansen called from the big blind. The flop showed 
, and Hansen check-raised Gracz all-in, who called immediately and showed 
for a set. Hansen flipped over 
. Gutshot and nut-flush draw for the Dane. The turn and river came with

, giving Hansen the flush and the chip lead.
Cory Carroll and David Chiu follow him in the chip count with over 6 millions in chips each, thus the duel Hansen-Chiu could see another day. Incidently, it was Caroll who sent Tom "Durrr" Dwan
back home. Dwan pushed all-in with kings and got called by Caroll, who showed AJ. The turn came down with an ace and finished off the young online pro.
On Saturday the final table will be fought out. The gentlemen have their day off today as the recordings for the WPT Ladies are taking place.
