WPT in the red

Last year the WPT recorded a million dollar loss. The management however isn't worried.

2007 marked a change for the World Poker Tour. First of all, the schedule was lightened. Second, there was less attendance, especially at the European events.

In addition to that, the WPT changed channels. Indeed, their early partner Travel Channel decided Poker didn't have a place in their programme anymore, so the WPT was moved to GSN.

Some further changes were announced for the coming year by CEO Steve Lipscomb. It is unlikely that the WPT will be making profit again next year, but some improvement is predicted for 2009-2010.
