WSOP Event #19 With Nazgul, Allanon and PokerNoob

It has been a strange day for the Team PokerStrategy.com in Las Vegas. After a long night spent railing and cheering the Diamond Member Fabian fabstinho Quoss, the three players and their team manager, Robbie, were back in Amazon Room for the start of the 2,500$ No Limit Hold'em Six-handed event.

Many internet pros were scheduled to appear at that tournament, whereas the "old" guns were still battling hard on Day 2 of $10,000 Omaha Hi/Lo Eight-or-better event. While our three players began their tournament at noon,  fabstinho was still in the $5,000 tournament with 16 players left. Strong opponents were still present, like David "The Dragon" Pham and Isaac Baron.

Amongst the field of roughly 1,000 players in the Six-handed event, Tim "nazgul" Kahlmeyer (pictured right) was for sure one of the least lucky players.

After a good start, with A-T offsuit, he paid pre-flop to see quite a nice flop : T-T-2, with no flush draw available. He bet the pot and got called by one guy. The turn brought a 4, opening a flush draw. Nazgul bet the pot again and his opponent called. The river was a 7, Nazgul bet 500, his opponent reraised to 2,500 and Nazgul called. His opponent had pocket sevens...

Few minutes later, he re-raised preflop with pocket kings and got called by two players. On a flop of 2-2-7, he moved all-in, the first guy called and the other one folded Q-Q face up.

And, of course, the caller had... a pair of sevens. Nazgul got busted early from this tournament, after having been cheered by Mizrachi, who was at his table and could not believe the 7-7 call pre-flop.

Few hands later, it was Tobias "pokernoob" Reinkemeier (pictured left) to get busted. Different situation there, and we need to know more of the context from him to understand his play:

"With 3-3 on the button, I call a pre-flop raise from a large-aggressive guy who plays ok but too many hands. Flop comes : Q-7-6. The guy continuation-bets, as he has always done since couple hours. I flat-call him.

Turn is an Ace, I call his bet again, putting him on a bluff. River is rag, and he goes all-in. I go on tanking for few minutes and finally makes the call. I thought he tried to represent the Ace... which indeed he had — he had A-J. My stack was not real big, like 5k chips on blinds 75-150 and the player was really stealing a lot, so..."

Daniel "allanon85" Drescher (pictured right) held his ground for quite some time but then he also hit the rail just a few hands before the dinner break.

There were only 400 players left at that time. He had 12k in chips, and got moved to a new table, a lot more aggressive than the previous one and filled with good online players. He was on the BB when the SB raised from 300 to 800.

He called with J-9 offsuit. The flop came Q-9-4. SB bets 1,100, called by Allanon85. The turn is a jack, and the SB bets 2,500. With two pair, Allanon85 moved all-in and got snap-called by the straight of his opponent, who had K-10. No miracle, and Daniel is out just before the break!
