WSOP Event #4: "Stimulus Special" Day 1A Over

Day 1A of the Event #4 gathered a total of 2,992 players with only 376 of them making it through the day. Tim "Nazgul" Kahlmeyer will hopefully join them, as he enters the tournament on Day 1B.

WSOP Event #4One of the most impressive events on this year's WSOP schedule is
certainly Event #4, the $1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournament.
Billed as a "stimulus special", it has blown away the previous record
of 3,929 entrants who participated in a $1,500 No Limit Hold'em
tournament at last year's WSOP by selling a capacity of approximately
6,000 entries.

Registrations for this event are already sold out, with the maximum of
3,000 players per day. World Series of Poker President and Commisioner
Jeffrey Pollack commented:

"The demand for the Stimulus Special could be felt the moment we
announced it. We welcome all the first-time players to the World Series
of Poker and wish everyone good luck in their pursuit of a gold
bracelet.
"

The total prize pool of Event #4 will exceed $5 million, with the
winner guaranteed to earn more than 750 times the entry fee, along with
the coveted gold bracelet. Each of the final table participants will
receive at least six-figure paydays.

nazgul joins the action on Day 1B

Day 1A of the Event #4 featured a total of 2,992 players taking their
seats, both amateurs and pros alike. Some of the more notable names seen at
the tables included Chris Ferguson, Vanessa Rousso, Barry Greenstein,
Shaun Deeb and others. The R & B star Nelly also showed up to play,
as he seems to have grown fond of poker, participating in many events
both in the USA and Europe this year.

NazgulGreenstein, Rousso and Nelly all packed their bags before the end of the day. Greenstein's K-8 failed to improve against his opponent's pocket threes, while Rousso hit the rail after her pocket tens lost against A-2.

Nelly found himself in a great position to double up when his pocket kings went against K-Q, but the board came 8cTcJs9d3d and eliminated the celebrity from the tournament.

After 10 hours of play, a total of 2,616 packed their bags, which makes it an average of 4.36 people busting out per minute throughout the day. With Day 1A over, 376 of its survivors will move on to Day 2 where they will meet the survivors of Day 1B.

More pros are expected to attend the event and joining the field on Day 1B will be our  Tim "nazgul"
Kahlmeyer (pictured left). Hopefully, he will be successful and perhaps take down some top pros along the way.
