Winamax to broadcast the WSOP for free in French

Could this be a sign that other regions will soon be able to offer the World Series of Poker for free?

Poker fans in America are getting excited about the WSOP broadcast returning to ESPN, but what about the rest of the world?

Many countries outside of the USA get a version of ESPN, and in previous years these channels have carried the WSOP show, but nothing has been confirmed as yet.

Now, Winamax have given us a glimpse of what may be to come for viewers in Europe and beyond. The poker room announced this week that they will be broadcasting the entirety of the World Series of Poker, for free, in French, on their YouTube channel. 

Will more operators follow suit?

Before the Main Event, the WSOP will also be broadcasting the other bracelet events for free, in English, on YouTube. 

The question now is whether other regions will get a similar deal for the broadcast of the World Series of Poker. While ESPN is a mainstream broadcaster, users still have to pay for their subscription. 

With the news that mainstream audiences will be able to catch the WSOP Main Event on ESPN, and French viewers will get it for free on YouTube, there is clearly a desire from the World Series to expose their product to the largest possible audience. Here is hoping that more regions and operators get involved to bring the WSOP, for free, to as many viewers as possible.
