World Team Poker Announced
The first professional poker sports league has just been announced. Consisting of 32 teams with 5 players, it will feature top pros representing their countries in the game they play the best.
Poker pros will soon have a new battlefield to play on, as the World Team Poker has just been announced. It will be the first professional poker sports league with 32 teams consisting of five players representing their countries. Team captains are chosen by World Team Poker and the captains then choose their teammates.
USA vs Vietnam in November
Phil Hellmuth (pictured right) will be the captain of Team USA which will face off against Team Vietnam led by Men "The Master" Nguyen in WTP's first event planned to be held in Las Vegas this November. The second event will feature Team USA going up against Johnny Chan's Team China in Macau.
The teams will compete in several poker variants and the players will be able to set stakes in the matches and raise them during play. WTP is also planning to broadcast the events live over the internet with the viewers having several interactive features at their disposal such as chatting with team captains or wagering on the outcome.
