Zang wins Triton Million, Kenney wins biggest prize in poker history

The businessman wins the title but Bryn Kenney makes history winning the biggest prize in poker and topping the All-Time Money List.

The format of the Triton Million was designed to give the rich amateurs a shot, by segregating the professionals for six levels and them requiring an invite by a recreational player to attend. 

It appears to have done its job as financier Aaron Zang of China walked away the champion and £13,779,791 richer.

However, his heads-up opponent Bryn Kenney will be the talk of the poker world for some time. Kenney took the biggest prize of £16,890,509 ($20,563,324) after a heads-up a deal. Not only is that the new record biggest prize in poker history but it propels Kenney to number one on the All-Time Money List with $55,505,630, more than $10 million more than previous leader Justin Bonomo. 

If that was not enough, if you look at his Twitter comments below, he also booked a lot of side action betting on himself in this tournament:

Zang also jumped right into the All-Time Money List discussion with this single result, he now sits in 32nd place just ahead of Nick Petrangelo. 

The real story, and this is not a platitude, is perhaps the mark this event has left on the poker community. This was one of the most entertaining live streams we have seen in years outside of the usual events like the WSOP and EPT. The quality of the production was superb, the format was very entertaining and the level of play was remarkable. Triton Poker really have emerged as a force in televised tournament poker with this event.
