partypoker launches global live poker tour

2017 starts with a bang for partypoker who yesterday launched a new poker tour with $5,000 buy-ins and a million to the winner.

Every Main Event on the partypoker LIVE tour will have a $5,000 buy-in and a seven-figure guarantee.

The first event on the schedule takes place in Montreal, Canada, from May 6. It has a $5 million guarantee with $1 million guaranteed to the winner. 

Each event on the tour will also host partypoker Million Nationals, which will have a $1,000 buy-in and a guarantee of at least $500,000.

Live and online Day 1s

The full schedule has not been announced yet but it promises to be a global tour. The existing partypoker Grand Prix, which takes place in popular football stadiums, continues in 2017, with an event in Cork already planned. 

What will make this tour unique is that it appears each event will have online Day 1s alongside the live Day 1s. This is something Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham have been experimenting with and the club is now a partner of partypoker, working on their Grand Prix events, so it could well be this tour has the talent from Dusk Till Dawn managing the events.
