15:30, how you see his range vs this small bet?

    i see it like:
    JJ-TT,88,QdQh,QdQs,AQs-A6s,Q9s,Q7s,J9s,J7s,T9s,T7s,98s,96s-95s,87s,75s+,QdJd,QdTd,JdTd,Qd8d,Jd8d,Td8d,Qd6d,Jd6d,Td6d,Ad5d,Qd5d,Jd5d,Td5d,AQo-A7o,Q9o+,Q7o,J9o+,J7o,T9o,T7o,98o,Qd8h,Qd8s,Qd8c,Qh8d,Qs8d,Qc8d,Jd8h,Jd8s,Jd8c,Jh8d,Js8d,Jc8d,Td8h,Td8s,Td8c,Th8d,Ts8d,Tc8d

you need there 50% to value-bet, do you have it?

#1: It seems you may have a few misconceptions. First off, I would expect villain to be 3betting at least TT+ and AQ+ pre, so I don't agree that they have TT, JJ, QQ, AQ. Secondly, some hands I think villain calls vs a minbet that you are missing include small pocket pairs (22-66), all Ax (A4o etc.), and weaker 7x (87, 76s).

Finally, you say: "you need there 50% to value-bet, do you have it?" This statement is only really true when we are in position on the river and considering going all-in. Otherwise it's not as simple as needing 50% vs. villain's calling range, because we have to factor in other things like the value of villain folding their equity, the value of not letting villain bluff us (i.e. not having to bluffcatch), the risk of getting raised, the board changing on future streets and how that can affect ranges, etc. A better way to look at it is to try to compare the EVs of betting vs. checking and decide which is higher.

I have to say I really like this! I've seen many videos in the past where the coach just says "Well this player is a fish so I'm going to do x y and z" but like this you can think about spots from a more objective standpoint.

It would be also fun from the viewer's point of view if you went into the analysis tab on pokersnowie at the end of the session to see if it thinks you made any blunders.

Very good - I'd definitely like to see more of this kind of video.

Hello Oblioo, thx for this video ! I have some questions :

@ 2:30 I feel this is one of the worst hand for CB (blocker for what we want him to fold, our outs are scared cards, no turn we really want to barrel, a little SD equity), do you CB all your range here ? Do you think your range is so far ahead of your opponent's range for that ?

@ 23:30 what whould he turn into bluff here ? some low SD equity hand like 66, 55, if he have it preflop ? I don't see many more, don't think he defends preflop with 45s or K8o, while he have something like 10 flush combos + some sets and DP.

@ 33:30 what would be the bottom of your calling range here ? What range would you 3bet ?

    Thx much again !

14:20 - in UTG 79cc u said u gonna limp if theres fishes in MP or CO .... why limp is good?

36:00 KJo why no overbet 200% of pot OTR? as u said u gonna have many bluffs here but imo u can have many bluffs cuz u can imo also have many value : lot of FDs maybe even all 67o and a lot of 6Xs ... so going for overbet makes sense, and having Js makes good bluff candidate... or is my thinking bad?

    #6 and #12:

2:30 Basically yes, I think my range is far enough ahead to be cbetting my pure air here. I am not cbetting 100% but I'm going to have a polarized range here.

    23:30 Td9d, Jd9d, 5c5x, 6c6x, 9c9x, KcQx

    33:30 prob 98s and 76s, I would not 3bet in this spot.

    #9 and #10:

14:20 we already discussed this on skype :p Keep in mind I was referring to fish with vpips of 60+.

36:00 I do not think villain's range is capped.

This post is neither Trolling nor agitation against PokerStrategy.com!

Why didn't u let Snowie evaluate your game and decisions at the end of the video?
Maybe talk about the hands Snowie marks as "missplayed" and compare them to a real opponent, if Snowie is still right than or why ur decision could be better and so on... - no knowledge gained in this video and I don't understand why 4of4 people rated this video 5 stars!
  • Kooort

    #22

    Additional:
In the german version from "IronPumper" he evaluates his hands with Snowie afterwards and talks about why it could be different...
  • Tim64

    #23

I thought this was a pretty useful video even without the evaluation. Especially the QhJh hand bluffcatch riv and the other bluffcatch with AdKd. Many thanks, oblioo!

6:57 JJ 2nd table. What bluff range do you assign him as 4bet? if it is mostly Ax due to the blockers as many regs use, I think that flop is a fold. River you can likely open fold.
  • GingerKid

    #25

"Finally, you say: "you need there 50% to value-bet, do you have it?" I find your answer interesting and correct on that in 3# comment. Just what is missing in your answer is, how do you use that knowledge to play correctly in that spot? You said it is not enough to have 50% equity to value bet, since it is more complex EV calculation, but how do you play it? Since humans can hardly calculate EV so fast during live play, what would be your quick guidelines, for some general spots (e.g. on turn draw heavy board, dry board, agro raiser, passive raiser, agro bluffer after we checked, passive)
  • oblioo

    #26

#24: As I mentioned, I think he can have broadway/blocker hands such as KQ. The problem with your idea to fold the flop is that if snowie did 4bet bluff with a small Ax, I do not expect them to cbet this flop (I expect a cbetting range to be more polarized than that), so folding flop does not seem like a good idea.

#25: There's no real 'shortcut' answer to this question, because it depends so heavily on each specific situation. Maybe I could make a future video which focuses on spots where we should bet but it's not exactly a clear "value bet" or "bluff."

previous comments: Perhaps next time I will include looking at some hands that snowie considered errors during the session. This video was intended to function more as a live-play sweat session, focusing on in-game decision making.
