After an extensive break the Battle of the Donkeys returns this Sunday. This time around the BOTD will feature competition between the English and Spanish communities and will be more exiting than ever before!
The Battle of the Donkeys (BOTD) returns! Bigger than ever before. For those of you who do not know what the BOTD is; it is a weekly community tournament held on Sundays in which players of the English community, divided into individual teams, play in various tournaments. In order to make the tournament accessible for even beginning players the administrators make staking deals available, so that players without enough BR get their buy-in paid in return for 50% of their winnings.
This season includes a novelty though - since the English Community will be batteling it out against the Spanish community! Since the announcement of the new season kicking off was made on the forum (BOTD Season 3 Details & Description) the English community has assembled a strong showing of teams that will be representing it; while battling for the main prize.
Rules and Guidelines
The rules are quite simple. As described in the introduction thread, there will be several teams from each community playing it out in a total of 6 tournaments. These will take place on Sundays at 19:00 CET (13:00 PokerStars time). The BOTD will switch between the 15k GTD and private tournaments.

The teams will have up to 7 players (but can have less) and will not change through the season. The top 5 results from each team will be counted towards the result. This means if some of your players cannot play on one of the Sunday's you are not at a disadvantage since only the top 5 results count. If you have less than 5 players playing the missing players will be counted as if they had busted in the first hand! So make sure to have a steady roster of at least 5 players.
Scoring: As usual we will award medals to the top teams according to the best average finish, the most money earned and the members who got furthest. Since we will have a total of 15+ teams competing there will be 5 medals for the disciplines of most money and best average and 4 medals for the 4 furthest members. That means

medals worth 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 points each. The team with the most points at the end of the season will win. The two communities (English & Spanish) will also be compared according to average finish, money, and their collected tournament leader-board points (more details on this later).
Extra Prizepool: Just as last season there will be an extra prize pool. This will be filled with money from not given away stakes and money which was paid back by staked players. At the end of the season this prize pot will be distributed among the players of the top 2 teams (65% among the first and 35% among the second best team).
