johnnyrocket1 Is Back With a New Video [Platinum+]
After a back-packing trip to South America, Fixed Limit producer "johnnyrocket1" has returned with a new video titled "How to Get My Game Back." As an extra bonus, we've included a short interview with him.

PokerStrategy.com: Hey there johnnyrocket1 and welcome back! It's good to see you have released a new Fixed Limit video for our PokerStrategists. Give us a brief description: What is this video about?
johnnyrocket1: I took 2 months off travelling, so my game was really rusty when I came back so I thought it'd be good to make a video on what I'm doing to try and progress to get back to my old skill level. It is more like a look in to the steps I took while playing to move up in the ranks over time. It should be very helpful for those progressing through the limits, with how to approach the game and evolve in to stronger players.
PokerStrategy.com: To whom would you recommend this video? In other words, what type(s) of players will benefit the most from watching it?
johnnyrocket1: The players who will benefit the most from this video are those who have had trouble getting back in to the games after taking time off, or for those trying to move up in limits.
PokerStrategy.com: The most recent topic is the online poker situation in the US right now. As an American player, what's your stance on it?
johnnyrocket1: Oh man, haha. I am clearly not happy with it. I had just gotten back in to playing and was doing a great job of getting back to my old A game that I had before my 2 month trip, and then this happens. I think it could be a blessing in disguise for legalization. However, it's difficult for me, because now I have to move overseas to play. While I am going to do this, it clearly is costing me money not being able to play at the moment, as well as forcing me to move to a place I wasn't planning on. I had just been about to move to Texas before this took place, and now I can't follow that dream if I want to play online. Also, I feel terrible for those who play for a living, but do not have the luxury of moving. These people would be those with families, or who were just making enough to justify doing it full time. They are in for a big life change, but hopefully it will be good for the future of poker. I am also curious as to exactly what the sites did, and also how long this process will take before I can ever play again in the USA. I try to stay optimistic in life, and this is no different. It will also be nice to be able to withdraw some of the money soon when the sites allow that.
PokerStrategy.com: What kind of impact will this issue have on your lifestyle?
johnnyrocket1: It is going to hugely impact my lifestyle. While I like to travel, I was set on moving to Austin, Texas. Now I am unsure of where I am going to live in order to keep the playing dream alive. I am flying to Montreal in a week or so to check it out, and also considering Malta as of right now. Really though, I am very unsure of where I will be moving, and where the next 2 years will take me. I enjoy that though and not knowing my future, it makes life more fun and challenging for me. I know when I decided to play for a living though that things like this could happen. I always have a back up plan for this stuff, and you won't see me out of the games for more than one more month, I will make it work. For now though, it is going to dictate the options of where to live, and it is making it so I probably can't live in the USA for a while. It is almost as if the US is throwing me out of the country in a way. I enjoy travelling though, and I enjoy living in other countries so that is good for me. It will give me the upper leg on others who are way out of their comfort zone with something like this. However, I will hate not being able to come back to the US and being able to play whenever I want. Therefore, I have my fingers crossed that this does not stay this way for a few years, but I will be ready for the worst. I had been planning on working my way out of poker within the next year and a half, and this could be the tipping point.
PokerStrategy.com: We haven't seen you in a while. Where have you been lately?
johnnyrocket1: I decided on the drop of a dime to enjoy my poker winnings more and travel. I chose South America, and travelled Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile while I was there for 2 months. It was a fantastic trip and I am planning on going back within the next 2 years to see the rest of the countries I desired to see. I have a passion for travelling now and have a strong desire to see every country in the world before the age of 40. I have knocked off about 20 so far, and if I move to Malta that number will skyrocket. Otherwise, I will just backpack Europe next year. I'll report on all my other travels in the blog as I go.
