Today we welcome a new coach from our French community who will now also be producing content for our English Poker School - say hello to Ilares.

He has been a coach for us since 2012, with 45 videos so far in French, and he makes his debut video for our English community today.

Our new coach is a regular at NL200 Zoom and he specialises in how to make soul crushing reads in these games, using the stats and information you have available to you.

He also likes to overbet in these games to increase his profitability and he tends to play only two tables at once to improve his level of focus.

Check out his first NL200 Zoom video now to find out more.

Ilares

Hi Ilares, welcome to the team of English coaches. What's your main game? How did you get there?

Ilares: Hey, I've played poker since 2010 when I was a student. I've always liked cash game more than SNGs or MTTs. Since then I have started to play Zoom on PokerStars. I usually play NL200 and sometimes NL500 when I'm in a great form.

How would you describe your approach to poker?

Ilares: My game approach is kind of exploitative, I like overbets on the turn and river for example, and it is hard to play GTO with big overbets. It is mostly value or bluffs according to my reads. I don't have big volume I usually play four tables of zoom but I play better with only two, I prefer doing my best at low volume than being ok with high volume!

Are you the typical grinder, living in a poker flat and grinding all night?

Ilares: Well I live with two roommates who do the same thing, but I don't grind all night, I like to work my game a lot, and also play some video games.

What are your goals for 2016?

Ilares: For 2016, I'd like to play more hands than last year, and improve as a player, maybe ending the year playing exclusively NL500!

How has poker changed your life?

Ilares: Well poker is great for traveling, I've visited the UK and Malta, for this year and the next maybe Eastern Europe, Thailand or South America, I'll see with my roomates!

We look forward to seeing your videos. A big welcome to the English team!
