Bidding Heats Up for Eastgate's WSOP 2008 Main Event Bracelet

At the time of writing, the bracelet has attracted 62 bids and is currently valued at $56,500. There are 4 days left in the auction and Tony G looks set to make good on his promise buy the bracelet for his beloved German Shepard.

If you missed out on the news from a few days ago, Peter Eastgate has decided to put his WSOP 2008 Main Event bracelet up for sale on eBay with a starting price of $16,000.

Eastgate said that he does not ever wear the bracelet, so he decided that it would be better to sell it and donate all the money to UNICEF. He thinks that with the sale, the bracelet will find an owner that will have better use of it, while the money can go towards helping a lot of needy people.

Tony G: "Don't touch my bling"

Shortly after the bracelet went up on eBay, Tony G announced his intention to purchase the bracelet for his pet German Shepard, Zasko.

“Carry on bidding, this bracelet is going to go for six-figures. I respect Zasko too much to not pay what it takes, but I do have limits. For $2 million, I could buy him his own private jet!” said Tony G in a recent blog entry.

In response to the critics who don't approve of his latest stunt:  “I have had a number of comments about whether this demeans the value of a WSOP bracelet.  You've got to have a laugh in life and this is what this is – a bit of fun for a good cause."

Finally, it seems that this is not the only WSOP bracelet that Tony G has his eye on, "I have received lots of comments through Facebook – one of them was from Germany’s Thomas ‘Buzzer’ Bihl, the winner of the very first WSOPE bracelet. He offered to sell me his so I always have options ... baby Zaskos also need bracelets!"
