Peter Eastgate's WSOP Main Event Bracelet Has a New Owner

2008 WSOP Main Event champion Peter Eastgate has put his bracelet up for auction on eBay almost two weeks ago. The bidding is now over and the new owner is going to receive the coveted bracelet after paying the sum of $147,500 for it.

After 10 days since it was added on eBay, the auctioning for Peter Eastgate's WSOP Main Event bracelet has come to an end. You can get the full story in our previous news item here.

A total of 116 bids have been placed and an owner has now been selected. Due to the fact that the auction does not display any real names, this person has not yet been revealed. Nevertheless, there are various rumours running around the poker community in regards to whom it may be.

What is known is that the buyer spent $147,500 to get this special bracelet. However, this money will not into Eastgate's pockets, as he himself said that all of it will go to charity:

"I hope that the auctions will attract a lot of people. Every new bid is a help for the less fortunate children helped by UNICEF."

Tony G's plans for the bracelet foiled?

One of the bidders is known to be Tony G, who wrote in his blog entry that he plans on getting Eastgate bracelet to turn it into a collar for his dog, Zasko. More information can be found right here.

His plans for the 2008 Main Event bracelet received mixed responses from community. While some applauded the initiative, some others firmly opposed.

However, whether he managed to win the bidding war is not yet known and it is likely that more details will be available soon on his blog at PartyPoker.
