Daniel 'jungleman12' Cates next to face Isildur1 in the SuperStar Showdown

Isildur1 and PokerStars.com just announced the next installment of their SuperStar Showdown. Daniel 'jungleman12' Cates is next in line to face the Swedish sicko on the coming Sunday.

Isaac Haxton and Tony G. The list of players who already had the pleasure of meeting Isildur1 in the SuperStar Showdown are both respected pros in their own right, but not exactly part of the group of players that dominated the highstakes in 2010.  This is about to change.

Next Stop: jungleman12

This Sunday at 22:30 GMT, the biggest winner of 2010, Daniel 'jungleman12' Cates, will meet with the young PokerStars Pro for the next SuperStar Showdown. Cates, also known as w00ki3z on PokerStars, won over $5,5 million on the nosebleeds last year and is certainly the gold standard for skystakes at the moment.

It's not the first time the two online legends meet. Their last encounter on PokerStars lead to a $35k drop in Isildur1's bankroll and the Swede then started a slight tilt session with a few verbal outbursts. Later he apologized though.

What's the SuperStar Showdown?

The basic rules of the SuperStar Showdown:

  • Every player starts with $150,000
  • They will play for 2,500 hands
  • NL Hold'em or PLO at at least $50/$100
  • Usually at four tables

So far Isildur1 has played Isaac Haxton and Tony G. In his first match against Haxton he dropped $41,000, but managed to win it back against Tony G by taking $45,000 from the Australian.
