WCOOP done and dusted, Denmark reigns
MTT grinders will be feeling a combination of exhaustion, disappointment and relief this morning knowing that the 2011 WCOOP has finally come to an end.
Early this morning the $5200 main event concluded with Denmark's Thomas "Kallllle" Pedersen sitting on top of the pile with a rather juicy $1,260,018.50 marked next to his name.
A huge congratulations goes out to PokerStrategy member vojtar who put up a memorable performance to take second spot, good for $710,000!
With six players Pedersen was in possession of more than half the chips in play and after "WhySoSrsSon" was eliminated in 6th place the players agreed to an ICM chop to each secure over half a million bucks each, leaving $100,000 for the winner and $1.16 million to the chip monster "Kallllle".
The Dane didn't let up from there on out, demolishing the rest of the opposition until he was heads-up with a 2-1 chip lead over PokerStrategy.com hero vojtar.
The final hand saw Vojta's 33 unable to hold against Pedersen's AT and that was that. According to this interview with Mr Pedersen, the Danish city of Aarhus had better watch out today, as there’s a party in town!
The 2011 WCOOP has been a mammoth three weeks, awarding $47,120,800 across 62 different tournaments. Congratulations to vojtarand all the PokerStrategists who had success in the series!

High stakes corner
The WCOOP main event brought most of the high stakes world out to play last night and it was a fruitful past 24 hours for the likes of Brian "$tinger 88" Hastings, Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond and Rafi "refaelamit" Amit.
High stakes supergrinder "!P0krparty?" finally hit a sticky patch and managed to lose a hefty $280,026 over his usual 7000+ hands.
One player still missing from the action is Viktor "Isildur1" Blom who turns 21 years old today. Perhaps he's on holiday or maybe he's already in the midst of a mega stakes matchup against Andy Beal over at the Bellagio?
Whichever it is, happy birthday Viktor, Las Vegas will never be the same again…

PokerScout unaffected by Bodog update
Last week Bodog Poker released updates to their software with the intention of restricting access for third party data miners "that only benefit professional players to the detriment of the recreational player".
Traffic reporting site PokerScout.com believed they were one of Bodog's primary targets, yet released their own statement after the Bodog update claiming that "while this data is more volatile than before, we believe it to be accurate on average" and promised to uphold their "duty to our readers to provide neutral and complete coverage of the market".
Meanwhile PokerScout released their latest weekly traffic figures which saw PartyPoker climb back into second spot ahead of the iPoker network.
