Selbst Deep in $1,500 No Limit, Mizrachi Crushing Stud 8, Event #3 in the Money
The third day of the World Series of Poker sees big names including JP Kelly and Vanessa Selbst with big stacks in the dying stages of the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em event. In addition, the $3,000 No Limit/Omaha heads-up is down to 64 players and Michael Mizrachi is among the leaders in the Stud Hi/Lo event.
WSOP numbers so far:
Events: 4/63
Prize pool: $4,876,270
Participants: 3,772
Event #2: $1,500 No Limit Hold'em
Day 2 of the first open event at the WSOP 2012 was a fast-paced affair that saw 239 players reduced to a field of 15 over the course of ten blind levels. In a refreshing change for a small buy-in, large field event, there are still some big names to follow as Vanessa Selbst, JP Kelly and Andrew Badecker are all alive in the final 15.
JP Kelly is one to watch - poised fourth in chips, he has had previous success in these events with his two WSOP bracelets coming in $1,500 Pot Limit Hold'em and £1,000 No Limit Hold'em events at the 2009 WSOP and WSOPE respectively.

Event #3: $3,000 No Limit Hold'em/Pot Limit Omaha Heads-up
As expected, this mixed heads-up event - a first for the WSOP - drew a field of largely online players. Also as expected, it was an action-packed day. After each player won two or three matches (byes in the first round) they were through to the final 64.
Among the survivors are PokerStrategist Vojtech "vojtar" Ruzicka, Annette Obrestad, Justin Bonomo and Yevgeniy Timoshenko. Each remaining player is guaranteed $3,395.
Tomorrow they play down to 16, with a first prize of $207,708 awaiting the eventual winner of this event.

The first event of the WSOP to not feature any Hold'em began last night as 622 players put up $1,500 to compete in the Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo event. Now just 210 of them remain, with the familiar face of Michael Mizrachi, fresh from his WPT World Championship final table, one of those leading the way into Day 2.
There will be a $2,754 payday for 64 of our remaining players, with the winner taking home $201,559.
